Canon Rock Power
Chords TAB
As mentioned
before, Canon in D follows a repeating 8 chord progression:
D A Bm F#m G D G A. Since you are learning
the powerchord version of Canon first you don't
have to worry about major or minor chords (powerchords
are neither major nor minor). This gives us a powerchord
progression of: D5 A5 B5 F#5 G5 D5 G5 A5.

Pachelbels
Canon In D
Canon
in D by Johann Pachelbel was written over 300
years ago and has become very popular in modern
times. Canon in D major is Pachelbels most well
known piece and is often played at weddings and
graduation ceremonies. The opening chord progression
and melodies are instantly recognizable in this
famous classical piece.
Canon
Theory
In music
theory a Canon means that a main melody (the 8 chord
progession in this case) is followed by counterpoint
melodies that imitate the original melody. The parts
are layered over each other, beginning with the
main melody. Pachelbel's Canon in D is made up of
a repeating 8 chord progression: D A Bm F#m G
D G A.
Canon
Rock
Originally
written for 3 violins and a bass, Canon in D
has been adapted to include other instruments such
as pianos, organs, harps - and now electric guitars
to give us the amazing Canon Rock! This video begins
with an Acoustic
Canon intro, then moves to an electric
intro solo, then the powerchord
canon rock riff and finally the canon
solo melodies. This video will also teach you the
Canon powerchord progression and all lessons are
available to members as a special bonus.
